A new Tales game featuring a what! The lead Protagonist is a what! Tales of Berseria announcement
Namco-Bandai (Im sure you know the name if you know of the "Tales of" series,) has announced a new game during the "Tales of Festival" (livestream was available here) to be known as Tales of Berseria. Holy cow, just look at that logo. It seems to be a person standing with... whats either a long cape, or REALLY long flowing hair, scattering into the breeze....
Ah, a moment for our war-torn warrior, how many scars does he bare? How many tears has he -- ... what? This is what? His name is Velvet? And hes not a guy? ?(??)? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!
Welp, unless theres a new update. It seems that for the first time in Tales of history, the role of the star protagonist is going to be a female role. Her name is Velvet and she looks like quite the bonafide heroine already.
"I wont give up, no matter how many times it takes, Ill hold onto them." *
Talking bout her dreams maybe? She seems like a strong girl with a life of pain awaiting her. ?(???)?
Shes voiced by Rina Satou, who has done the voice of Coral from Tales of Hearts, Vert/Lady Green Heart from Neptunia, Rixia Mao in Ao No Kiseki (I love those games~), Yuuki Kasokabe in ToHeart 2, Miasaka Mikoto from Railgun, and -- well the list goes on. To put it simple, shes got a number of experience in the profession. So Im sure shell do a good job.
Some more news on the game itself, it will be multi-platformed on both Sonys Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 consoles! So if youve played Tales of Graces F, Symphonia Chronicles, or the Xillia series, youll still be able to play it without having to buy a new console~ Wonderful.
Also; apparently they got UFOTABLE (famous for their beautiful animation of the Garden of Sinners / Kara no Kyoukai) to animate the cutscenes! So we can expect some Grade-A quality scenes.
Gameplay has not been announced yet! But you can bet your coin purse Ill stay updated on this game, since I loooove the Tales of RPG series~
This is Four, over and out.
P.S. Japanese Teaser website is apparently here. Theres nothing on it as of now, but we can all wait with much anticipation.
P.S.S. *This is my interpretation, my Japanese is garbage so I reviewed translations on a number of sites. If the exact translation comes available (or you know Japanese) please let me know.
